Why did you choose ۲ݮƵ and your program of study?

I am drawn to ۲ݮƵ University for its unique blend of educational excellence and practical, real-world experience, particularly in the realm of Bioresources Engineering. The M.Sc. A. in Bioresource Engineering – Integrated Food Bioprocessing aligns with my academic journey, professional experiences, and my unwavering commitment to addressing the pressing challenges of food safety and postharvest losses in Africa. It is the perfect platform to integrate my values with my aspirations of contributing to the development of innovative solutions for food security on the African continent.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

My specific focus will be on the development and implementation of an innovative Food Processing Hub (FPH) in Nigeria for the dissemination and adoption of food technologies and innovation in this sector. The hub will train food processors, specifically women and youth, in food processing entrepreneurship. Additionally, the FPH will serve as a means of transforming raw agricultural products into value-added goods through collaboration with stakeholders. By doing so, I aim to enhance food quality and safety, extend shelf life, and reduce post-harvest losses, which is a widespread major issue.

۲ݮƵ University’s Human Nutrition program aligns with my passion for addressing nutritional challenges in underserved communities. My experience growing up with limited access to healthy food drives my desire to make a difference.۲ݮƵ’s curriculum and focus on community health initiatives support my goal of pursuing a PhD. The program’s multidisciplinary approach will equip me to bridge the gap between nutrition science and community needs.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

I aim to impact public health and nutrition by developing expertise in community-based initiatives, food security, and managing non-communicable diseases. I want to work in public health organizations, international agencies, or non-profits to improve nutritional outcomes globally.Short-term, I plan to create community-based nutrition programs to help people make healthy food choices. Long-term, I aspire to become a lecturer, sharing my knowledge with future nutrition professionals.

I am dedicated to addressing the pressing challenges of feeding a growing global population while mitigating the impacts of climate change.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

Throughout my academic journey and beyond, I aim to work with organizations dedicated to sustainable agriculture and animal welfare. The goal is to influence policy, conduct impactful research, and foster international collaborations that promote ecological balance, enhance food security, and improve animal welfare in a ۲ݮƵ climate. Moreover, I am passionate about giving back to society by implementing community-based projects that educate and empower local farmers with sustainable practices.

My passion for addressing soil and groundwater contamination led me to pursue a Master of Science in Applied Environmental Engineering at ۲ݮƵ University. The program’s comprehensive curriculum, well-equipped labs, and cutting-edge technologies stood out to me. Courses like Water Quality Management and Environmental Bioremediation will deepen my knowledge in soil and water treatment, aligning with my goals. Learning from ۲ݮƵ’s esteemed faculty will enhance my technical skills and expose me to innovative research methods. Additionally, exploring the vibrant, multicultural city of Montreal adds excitement to my academic journey.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

Upon completing my master’s degree, I aim to help resource-limited African countries develop sustainable pollution control and remediation techniques. I plan to collaborate with NGOs like Environmental Rights Action/Friends of the Earth Nigeria and UNEP. By leveraging these collaborations, I intend to establish partnerships with international charities to secure funding for soil and water remediation. Through my work, I aspire to combat land pollution and improve quality of life for future ۲ݮƵ.

Why did you choose ۲ݮƵ and your program of study?

During my bachelor's in chemical engineering, I became interested in sustainable food production and equitable resource distribution in Cameroon. Inspired by my experience as a quality control engineer at a leading food plant, I am pursuing an MSc.A in Bioresource Engineering: Integrated Food and Bioprocessing at ۲ݮƵ University. This program's emphasis on advanced food engineering, combined with its opportunities for hands-on experience and collaboration with renowned faculty and industry experts, perfectly aligns with my goal of driving agro-innovation to support the African Union's Agenda 2063.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

After completing my studies, I aspire to address the pressing issues of education, food insecurity, and unemployment in Cameroon. My long-term vision is to produce eco-friendly goods and reduce food waste through innovative recycling technologies.

Growing up in a drought-prone village, I experienced severe water scarcity, walking kilometers daily for water. My desire to help my community led me to pursue an MSc.A in Bioresources Engineering - Environmental Engineering at ۲ݮƵ. This program will equip me with skills to design sustainable water infrastructures and management systems.۲ݮƵ University, with its top lecturers and hands-on Environmental Engineering course, focuses on innovative solutions to real-world environmental challenges.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

My career goal aligns with UN SDG 6, ensuring access to clean water and sanitation. The skills I gain will enable me to establish an Environmental Consultancy to design water infrastructures and manage natural resources sustainably. I aim to help make clean water a guaranteed right for all.

I love swimming, which has heightened my awareness of water's importance. I enjoy traveling, trying new cuisines, and socializing. I love making new friends and enjoying every moment.

Why did you choose ۲ݮƵ and your program of study?

I studied Agronomy at the University of Ibadan, where my research on biochar and its environmental impact ignited my interest in innovative research. My goal is to reduce food inequality in Africa. The Bioresource Engineering Program at ۲ݮƵ offers the knowledge needed to conduct cutting-edge research and achieve this goal.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

I've always been inclined toward innovation, with a focus on improving food production in Africa. I aim to build a career in environmental and agronomic research to support sustainable development goals 2, 10, and 13. I plan to develop a biochar-infused carbon capture and storage system to reduce air, soil, and water pollution. ۲ݮƵ’s Bioresource Engineering Program will equip me with the necessary skills through its multidisciplinary approach.

Fun fact:

I'm passionate about music and innovative research. I enjoy writing and singing various genres. My skills include creative writing, graphic design, and video editing. Though an introvert, I love karaoke nights and watching "The Bachelor" while snacking on dark chocolate.

I am pursuing an MSc in Public Health to understand health policy and ethics, focusing on their impact on marginalized communities. My goal is to improve health outcomes in underserved areas in Ghana. ۲ݮƵ's flexible curriculum aligns with my career goals, and the practicum will enhance my skills in public health policy, economic evaluation, and ethics.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

Growing up in rural Ghana, I experienced healthcare inequalities. Rural areas often lack quality healthcare and essential supplies due to urban-centric distribution and high costs. My long-term goal is to establish an NGO advocating for equitable health access in remote communities in Ghana. The MSc in Public Health will help me build the necessary competencies. Through the NGO, I aim to raise youth activists to shape the global agenda on social justice and inform public policies for equitable health access by 2035.

I've chosen ۲ݮƵ's Water Resources Management program due to my deep passion for hydrogeology and commitment to environmental sustainability which started when a gas station contaminated the wells that served as vital sources of drinking water for my community in Ibadan, Nigeria. This experience and my academic background in Geology drive my desire to address global water challenges and contribute to sustainable solutions.

۲ݮƵ's program offers a comprehensive foundation in water resources management, aligning perfectly with my goals of developing sustainable solutions and addressing water-related challenges.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

After graduating from ۲ݮƵ's Water Resources Management program, I plan to leverage the skills and knowledge gained to make a significant impact in environmental sustainability. I aim to work in the environmental consultancy industry, focusing on water resource management and hydrogeology. Growing up in rural Nigeria, I saw the effects of food insecurity and poor processing, which fueled my passion for sustainable food production. What do you hope to do after you graduate?

After graduating from ۲ݮƵ, I plan to pursue a doctoral degree in Food Science. My goal is to become an academic and researcher, advancing food safety, quality, and sustainability. I envision leading a research group focused on innovative solutions to food security challenges. Additionally, I aspire to establish a research institute for food analysis and safety, fostering interdisciplinary research and collaboration. Growing up in Ghana, I witnessed the urgent need for policy reform, inspiring my commitment to enhance public policy formulation and implementation. I find that the MPP program at ۲ݮƵ is ideal for developing the necessary skills and knowledge. Its multidisciplinary curriculum, including courses on macroeconomics of public policy and analytical methods of policy evaluation, addresses the gaps policy framework in Ghana. I am particularly excited for the Policy Lab that offers practical, real-world problem-solving experiences, mirroring the challenges I aim to tackle in my own country.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

Post-graduation, I aspire to drive impactful reforms in Ghana, focusing on education, land access, and economic development. The skills I will acquire at ۲ݮƵ will enable me to craft effective, equitable policies, enhancing public service delivery.

My goal is to apply bioremediation principles to restore the environment.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

I aim to implement biotechnological solutions for pollution cleanup in my local community and the broader African continent. Preserving the environment is crucial for our survival. I also plan to influence environmental policy and industry practices to protect biodiversity. My primary objective is to work with startups lacking proper food safety procedures. I am passionate about developing startups that maximize food safety and add value to raw materials. By improving food safety standards, we can enhance the quality of the food we consume. With the ongoing growth of the food sector, establishing robust food safety standards and teams is essential. My desire to solve pressing healthcare issues, particularly limited vaccine access in Nigeria and Africa, motivated me to pursue a master's in biotechnology. With infectious and neglected tropical diseases threatening public health in sub-Saharan Africa, my goal is to establish a research-focused organization in Nigeria. This organization will integrate biotechnology into drug discovery, developing cost-effective medications, vaccines, and diagnostics tailored to Africa's unique needs. I also aim to foster collaboration between academia, industry, and government to enhance vaccine accessibility.

Growing up in a farming community in Ghana, I saw traditional methods being replaced by cheap weedicides. This inspired me to study food nutrition and the impact of chemicals on food and soil biodiversity. At ۲ݮƵ, I aim to acquire knowledge and practical skills in sustainable food practices, food safety, microbiology, and analytical chemistry, contributing to safe and nutritious food systems.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

I plan to help local farmers and food producers create safer, more sustainable foods by organizing workshops and training programs on food safety and nutrition. I also aspire to work as a food quality assurance expert in a major food production company.

Fun fact:

I love creating beadwork with traditional Ghanaian designs and can prepare traditional dishes like Tou-Zaafiand Jollof rice. I enjoy making new friends and discussing a variety of topics, especially Ghanaian cuisines.

My decision to pursue my master's degree in Food Science and Agricultural Chemistry at ۲ݮƵ University was motivated by a combination of passion for food and academic rigor. This opportunity will allow me to study from a global perspective, professionals in the field and collaborate with others to provide solutions to the challenges encountered in the food industry and agriculture sector.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

After completing my master's degree in food science and Agricultural Chemistry I aspire to a career in health and nutrition or sensory science. My long-term goal is to become a professor at the University of Buea in Cameroon, where I aim to offer a comprehensive curriculum that integrates theoretical knowledge, analytical skills, and practical application in any food-related profession.

As a nurse practitioner assigned to a rural hospital, I witnessed many tragic events where lives were lost due to a lack of basic healthcare. This fueled my passion for public health, especially the link between disease patterns, social determinants, and health outcomes. ۲ݮƵ University stood out as the ideal place to deepen my knowledge in this field, with its cutting-edge research, distinguished faculty, and commitment to health equity. The university's global perspective aligns with my goals of addressing health disparities and ensuring equal healthcare access. ۲ݮƵ's MPH program, with its interdisciplinary curriculum, offers the skills I seek to develop, particularly in analysis, research, and communication.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

After graduation, I aim to take on leadership roles as a public health researcher, designing and implementing innovative programs and policies. I want to contribute to initiatives that other healthcare professionals can easily adopt and engage in international conferences to expand my influence and perspective.

The program’s mix of theoretical knowledge and hands-on learning aligns perfectly with my goals as an aspiring environmental engineer.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

After graduation, I aim to become an Environmental Engineer, focusing on water resource management and climate change mitigation. My goal is to develop sustainable solutions for water-related environmental challenges in agriculture, infrastructure, and health, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa and globally. My long-term goal is to establish a technology consulting firm to advise businesses on sustainable water management and environmental compliance. I also aspire to collaborate with policymakers on environmentally friendly water regulations and climate policies.

I am passionate about leveraging artificial intelligence in solving environmental and water resources management issues.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

I hope to lead water resource management innovations like introducing Advanced technologies for efficient water usage and promoting community-based projects for sustainable water access. I will collaborate with Non-Governmental Organisations, governmental bodies, and renowned research institutions to implement strategies for water resource management, develop policies, and support the execution of sustainable water initiatives.I will also continue conducting impactful research focusing on AI and advanced hydrological forecasting and implementing technology-driven strategies for water resource forecasting.

Why did you choose ۲ݮƵ and your program of study?

As a Quality Control Analyst and Food Safety enthusiast with experience in farming and food industries, I am deeply concerned about consumer food safety. Unsafe food can cause numerous diseases, from diarrhea to cancer, and can even be fatal. I chose to study Food Safety at ۲ݮƵ because its faculty members are leading experts who provide practical experience, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world food safety problems. This program will equip me with the knowledge and essential skills to address global food safety challenges.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

My primary goal is to join the Food and Agriculture Organization, where I can use my knowledge and skills to develop and implement evidence-based food safety policies and regulations that protect consumer health and prevent foodborne illness. Additionally, coming from a farming community where many are uneducated about food safety, I aim to work closely with the food industry and stakeholders along the supply chain to advocate for food safety policies. I will share my experience and organize food safety courses to train students and young professionals in the field.

My desire to solve pressing governance issues, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa, motivated me to pursue a master's in public policy. With poor policy implementation, low civic participation, and human rights abuses in the region, my goal is to establish a research-focused organization in Uganda. This organization will connect the populace with policy development and implementation bodies, fostering civic participation and collaboration between academia, industry, and government for inclusive policy development.

Coming from a country where climate change disrupts farming and causes food shortages, it has always been my dream to address this problem. The MSc in Bioresource Engineering at ۲ݮƵ University aligns with my goals. Its focus on Integrated Water Resource Management covers sustainable water management and environmental engineering, essential for tackling the nexus of water, agriculture, and climate change.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

I plan to use my skills to address food and water scarcity in Africa. By focusing on Integrated Water Resource Management, I will develop expertise in water management, irrigation, and sustainable agricultural practices. This will help farmers improve productivity and ensure food security. I also aim to work with industries to implement efficient water strategies, promote equitable access to clean water, and educate communities on sustainable practices.

I co-founded FeatheryCare, an AgriTech startup using AI for the poultry industry. Besides my professional interests, I enjoy volunteering, working out, traveling, and cooking in my leisure time.

I earned my bachelor's degree in statistics and worked as a teaching and research assistant in the same field during my national service in Ghana. While working under a lecturer specializing in biostatistics, I developed a strong interest in the field and volunteered as his research assistant for a year. Africa's healthcare challenges stem not just from a shortage of professionals but from a lack of specialists like biostatisticians, epidemiologists, and public health officers. I aim to contribute to improving healthcare on the continent by becoming one of the few biostatisticians who can develop tools for biological data collection, management, and analysis. This will help move Africa closer to achieving quality healthcare.

Fun fact:

I love spending time indoors, trying new dishes, cooking, listening to music, and learning about different cultures. In my free time, I enjoy learning new skills like braiding, watching Korean series, and exercising to stay healthy.

The research-intensive learning focus will advance my research skills and contribute to the scientific community. Achieving this at ۲ݮƵ will significantly contribute to my professional goals of advancing medical diagnostics and treatments using cutting-edge technologies.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

After graduating, I intend to work in medical biotechnology to improve the quality of life by addressing medical challenges, particularly in African countries. This includes developing new treatments and vaccines for prevalent diseases and improving diagnostic techniques. I aim to use genomics, artificial intelligence, and coding to create customized healthcare solutions tailored to the genetic makeup of patients.

With a background in geography and rural development, my choice to pursue ۲ݮƵ University's Integrated Water Resources Management program stems from a deep-rooted passion for local development through sustainable resource management and human-environmental interactions.The program's interdisciplinary curriculum, emphasising policy, planning, and management, aligns perfectly with my professional goals and personal values. The program offers the unique opportunity to study Canada's successful water resource management practices and adapt them to address Ghana's water and environmental challenges.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

Post-graduation, I aspire to establish and/or partner with an environmental consulting firm, leveraging my skills to work with government agencies in implementing effective environmental and water resource management strategies. Additionally, I plan to engage in public awareness initiatives and academic research to foster sustainable environmental practices worldwide.

Growing up, I noticed changes in the timing of seasons and rainfall, sparking my interest in environmental issues. Studying mining engineering further opened my eyes to the detrimental impact of human activities. This led me to choose Bio-resource and Environmental Engineering, where ۲ݮƵ's diverse curriculum offers solutions to environmental challenges and promotes sustainability. This aligns with my goal of starting a foundation to share best practices for sustainability in my local community.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

With knowledge in bioprocesses, sustainable development, and environmental assessment, I aim to improve soil quality for better food production in Nigeria, addressing rising food insecurity. I also plan to use these solutions for wealth creation as an entrepreneur.

I choose ۲ݮƵ University not only because of its world ranking as among the top research-intensive universities but also because its programs have integrated research opportunities, practical training, industry connections, and a global perspective. These skills are required to nurture my research journey and drive improvement and innovation in the food industry. I am passionate about protecting public health, embracing lifelong learning, and solving food safety-related problems while upholding ethical standards.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

My goal is to open a food safety training institute that offers certification courses to food handlers and industry professionals. Nearly one-third of the global death toll for food-borne diseases is from Africa. Therefore, this venture will leverage food handlers’ expertise to ensure food practices and regulatory adherence contributing to public health protection.

Fun fact:

I'm an extrovert who thrives in social settings. I love organizing and joining group activities like hiking, parties, sports, cooking, trying new cuisines, and attending theatrical performances.
