Location
Buckingham is a city located in the Outaouais region; about 175 km away from Montreal and 45 km from Ottawa. The teaching site is part of the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais.

Clinical Exposure and Learning Experience
Rotation primarily done in Hospital.
Trainees can be exposed to:
- CLSC
- ER
- Home care/visits
- Intensive Care Unit
- Long Term Care Facility
- Ward and Patient Services

Lodging
Lodging is provided by the establishment and is located at a short walking distance from the hospital (1.1 km).
Trainees are lodged in a shared apartment.On occasion, there are other tenants. Trainees have a private room and share common gender-neutral areas (bathroom, kitchen, living room).
Lodging can be available as of the evening before the rotation.
Trainees are expected at the Hospital at either 7:45 am or 3:45pm on the first day of their rotation depending on their schedule.

Transportation
Trainees can travel to the site by bus or car.
Car is recommended to maximize clinical exposition.
Depending on the location of their base teaching site, each trainee receives a stipend to help pay for transportation costs.
Trainees must make their own travel arrangements.
NOTE: For all students making their own arrangements. All students will be required to attend a mandatory Progress Test at the end of each block.
PLEASE do not make any travel arrangements before confirming the exact date of your test.
Traveling by Bus
offers regular service between Montreal and Ottawa with a stop in Massion, which is a city located in the south of Buckingham. Therefore, trainees can . You would get off at the stop “le stop” in Masson and take the bus #96 (STO). This will take you in direction of the hospital. Trainees would get off at the corner of McLaren and Bélanger.
Traveling by Car
From Gatineau
Take autoroute 50 in direction of Buckingham (about 30 km)
From Montreal
Take Autoroute 15 until exit 50 (Mirabel). Keep driving until Lachute and take the 148. When arriving in Gatineau (Masson-Angers sector) take the 309 Nord (which becomes Rue Principale) until McLaren street and make a right.
