The Office for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and the Department of Family Medicine of ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University are pleased to invite you to participate in a virtual CPD activity on telemedicine, starting in October 2023. This activity is available both in English and in French.

The Telemedicine course was developed to support all physicians. The content was created to highlight the benefits and challenges of telemedicine, review best practices in the safe delivery of virtual care, and provide tools to enhance web-side manners.

This accredited/certified CPD activity includes both aÌýlearning moduleÌýas well as a two-phaseÌý±è°ù²¹³¦³Ù¾±³¦±ð-²¹²õ²õ±ð²õ²õ³¾±ð²Ô³ÙÌýcomponent. The activity is available on demand and can be completed at your own pace.Ìý

Overall Learning Objectives

The knowledge and skills acquired or confirmed during this training will contribute to enhance patient care at the web-side.

After completing the learning module, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the key elements and concepts of a telemedicine visit
  • Identify professional and legal requirements for practicing telemedicine
  • Compare the potential benefits, challenges, and pitfalls of telemedicine
  • Review CanMEDS roles pertaining to the practice of telemedicine

After completing the practice-assessment activity, participants will be able to:

  • Analyze the level of implementation of telemedicine guidelines over time in their own practice
  • Obtain feedback from peers pertaining to their practice of telemedicine
  • Develop a personalized learning plan integrating reflections, new knowledge, and feedback
