Sustainable Futures Festival: Bridging the Gap Between Bench-Level Innovation and Readiness for VC Investment

Learn about the commercialization of research and the process of bringing ideas to market during a panel discussion featuring innovation industry experts from Anges Québec, Cycle Capital, Sustainable Development Technology Canada, and the ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Office of Innovation and Partnerships. Hosted by the ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Sustainability Systems Initiative (MSSI) and its CleanTech research theme, the panel discussion will be followed by a student poster presentations and a reception.

About the ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Sustainability Systems Initiative

Shifting to a more sustainable future requires taking a multi-faceted, systems-level approach to some of the world’s knottiest problems. The ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Sustainability Systems Initiative (MSSI) seeks to mobilize ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ researchers around sustainability challenges and equip the next generation with the skills needed to address these issues. In its novel approach, the MSSI provides opportunities for researchers from very different disciplines to interact and co-design projects that address complex problems from a variety of perspectives. The outcome is a robust and vibrant community of committed sustainability researchers.

A note about accessibility:

The ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Faculty Club is wheelchair accessible through the rear entrance of the building, which can be reached through an alley. An elevator is available to go down to the ballroom, where the event will be held. However, mobility-restricted bathrooms are on the second and third floors, and they are not wheelchair accessible.

The front entrance is 12 steps up. Inside, there are two steps down to the lounge (no railing), and another two steps down to the ballroom (with a railing).

Gender-neutral bathrooms are on the second and third floors.

The moderator and panelists will be using microphones, and a microphone will be available for audience questions.
