Experts: Resignation of Canadian Finance Minister
Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland has resigned from cabinet, but said she will continue as a member of Parliament. In her announcement, she cited differences with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over economic policy and responses to American economic nationalism, and said the prime minister had told her that he no longer wanted her to remain Minister of Finance.

Jennifer Robson is a J.W. McConnell Visiting Scholar at the Max Bell School of Public Policy at ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University. She has nearly two decades of applied policy experience inside and outside of government. She is also an Associate Professor in the Graduate Program in Political Management at Carleton University, where she teaches courses in public policy analysis and advocacy.
