The division of Minimally Invasive Gynecology Surgery offers advanced surgical techniques. Minimally invasive techniques using laparoscopy and hysteroscopy provide many benefits to the patient including: smaller incisions, less pain, faster recovery, less risk of infection and shorter hospital stay. It is a fast growing field used to treat fibroids, abnormal periods, endometriosis, ovarian tumors, pelvic prolapse, and female cancers. Using the minimally invasive technique, gynecologists can perform hysterectomies, myomectomies, and other gynecologic procedures. The need for large abdominal incisions is virtually eliminated. One of the unique features of our program is the use of laparoscopy to preserve fertility in women undergoing radiotherapy or chemotherapy.Ìý
