La pratique de PASCALE THÉORÊT-GROULX en vidĂ©o, performance et installation s’intĂ©resse Ă  la relation du corps Ă  son environnement physique, social et psychique. Elle examine l’incertitude et l’imprĂ©visibilitĂ© du monde qui nous entoure et le besoin incontrĂŽlable de l’ĂȘtre humain de le dompter. ThĂ©orĂȘt-Groulx est originaire de Gatineau oĂč elle a obtenu un baccalaurĂ©at Ès Art avec majeure en arts visuels et mineure en bande dessinĂ©e de l’UniversitĂ© du QuĂ©bec en Outaouais. En 2014 elle complĂ©tait une maitrise en arts mĂ©diatiques de Emily Carr University of Art + Design Ă  Vancouver pour laquelle elle a reçu une bourse d’études supĂ©rieures Joseph-Armand-Bombardier du Conseil de recherche en sciences humaines du Canada. ThĂ©orĂȘt-Groulx a Ă©tĂ© artiste en rĂ©sidence au Banff Centre en Alberta, au centre d’artiste DAÏMÔN Ă  Gatineau, Ă  Pigment Sauvage Ă  Baltimore et au Vermont Studio Center. De 2015 Ă  2019 elle a Ă©tĂ© artiste rĂ©sidente aux ateliers montrĂ©alais de la Fonderie Darling. Son travail a Ă©tĂ© prĂ©sentĂ© dans plusieurs expositions individuelles et collectives notamment Ă  la Fonderie Darling, au Centre Clark, Ă  DARE-DARE et Ă  la Galerie B-312 Ă  MontrĂ©al, Ă  Verticale Ă  Laval, au Centre des arts Shenkman Ă  Ottawa puis au ICA Ă  Baltimore, dans l’état du Maryland. Elle est prĂ©sentement basĂ©e Ă  MontrĂ©al.

PASCALE THÉORÊT-GROULX is a Montreal based artist working in video, performance and installation. Her work investigates the body’s relationship to its physical, social and psychic environment. She examines the uncertainty and unpredictability of the world around and within us, and the uncontrollable human need to tame it. ThĂ©orĂȘt-Groulx is originally from Gatineau where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts with a major in visual arts and a minor in comics from the University du Quebec en Outaouais. In 2014 she completed a master's degree in media arts at Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver for which she received a Joseph-Armand-Bombardier graduate scholarship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. ThĂ©orĂȘt-Groulx has been an artist in residence at the Banff Center in Alberta, at DAÏMON in Gatineau, at Pigment Sauvage in Baltimore and at the Vermont Studio Center. From 2015 to 2019 she was a resident artist at the Fonderie Darling in Montreal. She has shown her work in several solo and group exhibitions including at the Fonderie Darling, Centre Clark, DARE-DARE and Galerie B-312 in Montreal, at Verticale in Laval, at the Shenkman Arts Centre in Ottawa and at ICA in Baltimore, Maryland.
