University Teaching Labs Working Group (UTLWG)

The UTLWG enhances teaching and learning at ۲ݮƵ by prioritizing teaching lab projects for funding that are aligned with University strategic directions and principles of good pedagogy.

Mandate

The UTLWG’s mandate is to:

  1. Develop, maintain, and apply research-based principles to the renovation and upgrade of teaching labs.
  2. Establish multi-year needs and annual priorities for renovations to existing teaching labs across the University, and new teaching labs.
  3. Recommend funding for the creation, upgrade and maintenance of teaching labs and related equipment.
  4. Support University planning by identifying teaching lab priorities and designs that may benefit from funding opportunities that may arise.

For the purposes of this working group, “teaching labs” includes all discipline-specific teaching and learning spaces.

۲ݮƵ University is on land which has served and continues to serve as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations. Teaching and Learning Services acknowledges and thanks the diverse Indigenous peoples whose footsteps mark this territory on which peoples of the world now gather. This land acknowledgement is shared as a starting point to provide context for further learning and action.
