The serious game, Mela, which was developed as part of Hani Sadati's PhD project won a Bronze medal in the 2021 Serious Play Conference (in Digital Games Created by Students category).

Mela aims to contribute to the capacity building of Ethiopian agriculture college instructors to combat sexual and gender-based violence on their campuses.

Andréanne Langevin (DISE, MA SLE) was interviewed by Global News TV regarding her study of parents' opinions on Quebec's school language(s) of instruction and school choice.

The study involved a series of focus groups with 44 parents from across the province. The segment highlighted parents' opinions on the quality of second language education in the province and their desire for bilingualism for their children.

These findings are timely due to Bill 96, a proposed language policy bill that would extend restrictions on school language choice to CEGEPs.

As President of the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA), ECP's Dr. Ada Sincacore was interviewed by CBC about the need for better EDI practices to encourage more diversity among psychology professionals.

In the latest issue of Our Schools/Our Selves, two articles were published related to Law 21.

One is a first person account written by second year B.Ed student Jana Naguib on her feelings about the Law as a Teacher Education student who wears hijab.

The other, co-authored by DISE Professor Bronwen Low and colleagues with the OFDE, reports on the findings of a province-wide survey on the impact of Law 21 on faculties of education.

On behalf of the members of ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Faculty of Education, we mourn the tragic loss of 215 Indigenous children who were found in a mass grave at the site of a former residential school in Kamloops, British Columbia. Today, ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ lowers its flags in recognition of this tragedy, and we at the Faculty echo the sentiments of the ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Provost. As our academics, staff, students, and alumni grieve together, we also stand together in support of our Indigenous community members.

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the untimely passing of Dr. Aziz Choudry. Originally from New Zealand, Aziz joined us at ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ in 2008 and was an Associate Professor in the Department of Integrated Studies in Education until recently when he became a Visiting Professor at the University of Johannesburg’s Faculty of Education.
