Dr. Angelica Galante, from the Department of Integrated Studies in Education, along with other Canadian scholars have been interviewed by the British Columbia-based newspaper The Source about the need for inclusive language education in Canada.

With over 200 languages in the country, classrooms that are not yet valuing the linguistic and cultural diversity of the students in their pedagogy are doing a disservice to education.

Known for her motivation and enthusiasm, she was described by her friends as full of joy, bighearted, and always encouraging to her fellow classmates. Those wanting to read her obituary and watch the funeral recording may do so .

EDPE 595: Seminar in Special Topics-- Introduction to Professional Engagement with Indigenous Peoples in Canada is a graduate level course that is also open to to advanced undergraduate students, with permission of the instructor.Taught by Professor Dennis Wendt on Tuesdays at 11:35 AM to 2:35 PM (EST), this course provides an introduction to key considerations pertaining to professional engagement with Indigenous Peoples in Canada, including First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples.
