Dr. Gigi Luk at the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology at ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University is looking for adults to participate in a new research study. This study involves:
- A survey on language background and learning habit – for a 1 in 10 chance to win a $20 Amazon gift card Ìý
Optional for those self-identified as having a learning disabilities:
- a 1-1.5 hour online session
- Complete language tasks in English
- Answer questions about their language acquisition history and language background
Dr. Ian P. Levy, Dr. Michael Lipset and Mr. Timothy Jones invite you to participate in a research study that they are conducting. The purpose of this study is to assess the abilities of school counselors to identify ASCA Mindsets & Behaviors in the language of youth; i.e. Hip-Hop. Enclosed is a fun and interactive survey wherein you will be asked to listen to a student's song and assess the degree to which, if at all, a variety of educational mindsets and behaviors are present.
Instructions are as follows:
If you could redesign high school, what might you change? How could the schedule be more flexible? What if teachers worked together as teams? What if groups of students were combined based on interest and given the opportunity to connect learning to their everyday lives?

Congratulations to Stephanie Leite, a second-year PhD student with DISE's Leadership and Learning for Sustainability lab, who has been named one of the 2022 recipients of the prestigious Vanier CGS award. Vanier awards are granted to highly qualified doctoral students who demonstrate academic excellence, research potential, and leadership.
A celebratory evening was held to celebrate the graduation of the 28 locals who completed their ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University Bachelor’s of Education studies on October 22.
The graduates were a part of a special program where they studied in the Kahnawake, with instructors from the community.

Dr. Shaheen Shariff, DISE, Dr. Christopher Dietzel, and Safia Amiry are working on an edited collection about the social impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Office of Sustainability, in partnership with the Department of Integrated Studies in Education, has created an opportunity for faculty and students to enhance sustainability in the curriculum.
The Sustainability Education Fellows Program is a cross-campus initiative, supported by the Sustainability Projects Fund, that will bring together faculty and students to advance sustainability in the curriculum and pedagogy at ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ.
This past November, Distinguished James ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Professor in the Department of Integrated Studies,ÌýClaudia Mitchell,Ìýwas awarded the 2022 José Vasconcelos World Award of Education. Dr. Mitchell was present for the 37th World Cultural Council (WCC) Award to receive this honour atÌý, Portugal, and to give her acceptance speech.Ìý
