Matt Danbrook

Matt Danbrook is a doctoral student in School/Applied Child Psychology (ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University). Under the supervision of Dr. Delphine Collin-Vézina, Matt’s research explores the links between child maltreatment/trauma and suicidal behaviour.  He holds graduate degrees in School Psychology (University of British Columbia) and in Child and Youth Studies (Brock University), where his research focused on youth violence (e.g., school violence and bullying). He has published in this area and presented at local, national and international conferences. He also practiced as a school psychologist in British Columbia, where he specialized in identifying students with learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and/or various emotional and behavioral disorders. In his clinical practice Matt has worked with diverse populations (e.g., First Nations, refugees) including survivors of child maltreatment/trauma. Ultimately, he aims to combine research with clinical best practices to improve the lives of youth and families.
