Admission Requirements

  1. The following categories of candidates are welcome to apply for admission to the PhD in Oral Health Sciences program:
    • Candidates who completed a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., health sciences, social sciences, engineering, etc.) with a CGPA of 3.2 or higher.
    • Candidates currently enrolled in the MSc Dental Sciences (Thesis) program at ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ who excel in coursework (CGPA of 3.5 or higher) and who engage in promising research. These candidates may be invited to apply to the PhD program via the fast-track path after only 1 year of Master’s level studies.     • Academically exceptional candidates who completed a Bachelor’s degree (BSc or a DMD/DDS) with a CGPA of 3.5 or higher and have strong research experience, including a publication record. These candidates may be accepted directly into the PhD program
  2. Applicants can secure a supervisor before or after they submit their application.
    - Potential supervisors have access to applications that have been submitted through ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ's Admissions platform, have been reviewed by the Faculty's Graduate Studies Office, and are only pending the confirmation of the supervision form.
    - Candidate selection for this program is highly competitive; it is in your best interest to submit your application as soon as the application cycle opens. See the Apply Now page for more information.  
    - Faculty researchers may contact applicants with similar research interests. Please indicate the name or names of the researchers you would like to work with in your online application, as this will allow your application to be prioritized by these professors first. We encourage you to carefully consider the researchers’ profiles and to contact them directly to discuss the possibility of supervision.
    - It is important to pay attention to application deadlines, as applicants must secure a supervisor before they can be accepted into the program.
  3. Applicants must follow standard Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (GPS) application procedures.
  4. Applicants whose previous studies were not completed in English must submit proof of English language proficiency. See ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ’s language proficiency requirements for more information. Please allow for 5-7 days processing time following submission of your proof of English language proficiency for your application checklist to be updated. Kindly include this in your application timeline calculation.
