The Laidley Centre for Business Ethics and Equity is pleased to announce the launch of the Laidley Centre Student Fund, an exciting opportunity for students to receive funding to organize or participate in ethics-related events and experiences. This initiative aims to encourage students to apply ethical principles in real-world settings, fostering critical thinking and enriching their academic journey. The fund prioritizes student-led initiatives such as panels, workshops, pitch competitions, and networking events that promote ethical discussions within the ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ community.
The winning team(s) will receive a funding grant of $700 to organize and execute their event. The grant can be used for various event expenses, including catering, venue arrangements, speaker travel / logistics, promotional efforts, and more.
Eligibility / criteria
- Open to undergraduate students enrolled at ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University.
- If applying to participate in an initiative, the student(s) must demonstrate how the activity will benefit their knowledge acquisition or professional development or enrich their classroom learning.
- The student must submit a proposal indicating 1) a description of the activity, 2) an outline of what they and the other participants will learn and how they will benefit from the experience, and 3) an estimated budget.
- If applying to run an initiative, the student must submit a proposal including a detailed description of the event format, the selected theme relating to ethics, the suggested time / date, a breakdown of the budget, the theme, and a description of key competencies that each team member will bring (if applicable).

- Ethical supply chains and circular economy models
- Ethics in business practices: fair wages and labour rights
