Associate Professor Annie Savard (Department of Integrated Studies in Education) was recently interviewed by the Times Colonist, a BC-based publication, about how Canadian students are performing in mathÂematics. Savard "...points out Quebec teachers have a clearer understanding of 'didactic' instruction, a concept championed in France and French-speaking countries. 'Knowing the content of the course isn’t enough,' Savard says. 'You need what we call didactic [teaching].
Call for Survey Participants: Parenting Behaviours and Associations with Mental Health and Well-Being
The ReACT lab is looking for participants in Canada who are at least 18 years old to complete a survey about parenting behaviours and its associations with mental health, and well-being.
The survey takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete and you can choose to enter into a random draw for the chance to win 1 of 2 cash prizes of $50 at the end of the survey. The survey is available in English and French.

Karissa Leduc, a PhD candidate in the Human Development Program supervised by Dr. Victoria Talwar, has won the competitive Elizabeth Munsterberg Koppitz Child Psychology Graduate Student Fellowship from the American Psychological Foundation.
