Pier-Olivier Turcot joined the Legal Affairs and External Relations Bureau of the International Civil Aviation Organization in 2019, shortly after completing his master of air and space law at ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University’s Institute of Air and Space Law. Not only did the IASL’s thorough curriculum and activities prepared him for the work he would undertake, but it also allowed him to develop meaningful ties with his colleagues, professors and members of the Institute’s far-reaching network, many of whom would become close friends. At ICAO, Pier-Olivier develops and manages the new aeronautical agreements and arrangements registration system, participates in various working groups - analysing legal aspects on topics such as cybersecurity and remotely piloted aircraft systems - and provides general counsel on several matters, such as on agreements with States and external entities.

Aram Daniel Kerkonian is a Policy Advisor with the Aerospace, Defence and Marine Branch of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, a department of the Government of Canada. Aram joined the government in 2020, shortly after completing his doctorate in space law at ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University’s Institute of Air and Space Law, where he benefitted tremendously from the unparalleled academic, professional and social development opportunities made available to students of the IASL. In his current day-to-day role, Aram provides analysis and advice to senior management on a variety of issues related to space policy and regulation and Aram is fortunate to work with talented and dedicated public servants – many of whom he first met while participating in IASL-sponsored conferences and events. In addition to serving as an editor and reviewer of various academic journals, as a leading expert on Canadian space law Aram regularly presents and lectures on the subject at the IASL and other institutions.
