Eligibility Criteria

Anne McCormick Award – Management

  • Open to M2 to M4 employees
  • Full-time or part-time employees
  • Regular employees
  • Term staff with at least five (5) years of continuous employment with the FMHS

Pamela Chase Award – Administrative, Administrative and Support Staff

  • Open to unionized and excluded (MPEX) administrative and support employees (e.g.: Human Resources Administrators, Academic Affairs Administrators, Administrative Assistants, Coordinators, Clerks, etc.)
  • Full-time or part-time employees
  • Regular employees
  • Term staff with at least five (5) years of continuous employment with the FMHS

Priyabrata “PB” Mukhopadhyay Award – Technical and Research Support Staff

  • Open to Technical and Research Support Staff (e.g.: Animal Attendant, Technician, Research Assistant or Associate, etc.)working at core platforms or in research centres, research institutesor departments whose primary duties involve maintaining common equipment, training students and other HQP
  • Full-time or part-time employees
  • Regular employees
  • Term staff with at least five (5) years of continuous employment with the FMHS

IMPORTANT NOTE:

All current employees in the list above are eligible to be nominated for the VP-Dean’s Ovation Awards, excluding:

  • Casual Employees

  • Members of the Medicine and Health Sciences senior administrative team

  • Award recipients within the previous five years


The nominees’ accomplishments must be in-line with the strategic direction and mission of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences with particular emphasis on the following criteria:

  • Quality of Work: Demonstrates exceptional ability in the tasks associated with the position, consistently displays a high level of motivation andexceptional quality of work.
  • Initiative: Suggests improvements in methods/procedures to increase the overall efficiency of Faculty operations, consistently advocates for improvement and drives change across the organization.
  • Creative Problem Solving: Supports open-mindedness, promotes a creative culture in the work place, thinks outside the box, demonstrates problem solving abilities, collaborates with others to find innovative and creative ways that are advantageous to the team and the Faculty.
  • Dedication and Caring: Demonstrates empathy, compassion and motivation, models and encourages good workplace behaviour, best practices and initiatives that support the Faculty and the University. Portrays a positive attitude toward work responsibilities, co-workers and stakeholders, serves as a role model for others and boosts overall morale.
  • Service Excellence: Providesoutstanding service regularly to internal and/or external stakeholders, walks the extra mile to meet their needs; establishes and maintains effective relationships with them and gains their trust and respect. Demonstratesand promotes a good understanding of ۲ݮƵ and the Faculty’s practices, procedures, activities and services.
  • Innovation: Proposes novel and cutting-edge questions and ideas that advance the Faculty's mission, looks for opportunities that will lead to creative projects and new collaborations. Employs strategic thinking to challenge the status quo and optimize processes and services. Keen on learningabout future trends in the industry and improving performance of services.
