Daniel Mills (B.Mus ’10) named Executive Director of Kamloops Symphony

Daniel Mills (B.Mus ’10) has been named the new Executive Director of the Kamloops Symphony!

Born and raised in Calgary, Daniel Mills is an emerging arts leader with a background in performance and administration. His previous position at Arts Commons, Calgary’s major performing arts centre, included overseeing individual giving programs and donor stewardship at Arts Commons. Daniel has also held administrative positions at the Honens International Piano Competition, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, and One Yellow Rabbit Performance Theatre.

Daniel recently completed his MBA at the University of Calgary. Previous degrees include a Bachelor of Music from the Schulich School of Music of ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University and a Masters of Music from the University of Ottawa.

In a press release, Daniel wrote, “It is a great honour to be joining a cultural institution that has such an evident importance to the community. I very much look forward to learning what the Kamloops Symphony means to the Thompson Valley, and how we can together continue its legacy as a source of civic pride. Equally, I eagerly anticipate engaging in meaningful relationships with all of the Symphony’s stakeholders, and determining how collaboration between our partners and patrons can help us achieve sustainable growth for the community as a whole.â€

About the Kamloops Symphony

Founded in 1976, the orchestra presents a main series of 10 full orchestra programs in Kamloops and Salmon Arm, a chamber music series of 5 programs, and a series of educational programs.
