Application Information

Interested psychiatry residents are encouraged to contact the program director during their PGY-3 year in psychiatry, as the optimal timing for application to this program is early in the PGY-4 year. Please see the PGME Admissions website for detailed requirements and application deadlines.

The required documents include:

1.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý A personal statement (relevant background, motivation and career goals should be highlighted)Ìý

2.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý An updated CV

3.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Three reference letters, ideally from Geriatric Psychiatrists (need not be certified Geriatric Psychiatrists), to be sent directly by email from the referees to the PGME Office, pgadm.med [at] mcgill.ca

**Applicants who are currently residents in one of the four general psychiatry programs in the Province of Quebec will be contacted, following their interview to our GeriatricÌýsubspecialty program, by theÌýBureau du Coopération Interuniversitaire (BCI), for a ranked list of their preferred program(s). The ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Geriatric PsychiatryÌýprogram will also submit a preferred candidate rank order list to ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ PGME, who will forward this list to theÌýBCI.ÌýThe applicant’s admission to one of the four Geriatric PsychiatryÌýprograms in Quebec will thus be a match, organized by theÌýBCI.
