Maggie received her Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Life Sciences from Queen’s University in 2020. She completed a Graduate Diploma in Oncology focusing on Global and Population Cancer control at ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University in 2021. Her practicum research project was with the Division of Cancer Epidemiology which focused on the legal and ethical implications of gender-neutral human papillomavirus vaccination. In hopes of combining her interests in epidemiology and oncology, Maggie decided to pursue her Master of Science in Epidemiology at ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University in September 2021. Her thesis researchÌýis investigating the role of the vaginal microbiome in HPV-associated cervical carcinogenesis.ÌýMaggie has also worked as an Assistant Editor for Preventive Medicine and Preventive Medicine Reports since June 2021.

Project Title:ÌýThe cervicovaginal microbiome in human papillomavirus-associated cervical carcinogenesis: potential value for clinical practice (supervisor: Dr. Eduardo Franco).
Brief Description:ÌýMaggie's thesis research is investigating the role of the vaginal microbiome in HPV-associated cervical carcinogenesis. Specifically, she is looking atÌýthe relationship between the vaginal microbiome, HPV infections, and CIN severity using vaginal samples from women referred for colposcopic examination.
