Montreal's OBORO gallery presents Anne Ashton's վܰó from September 12, 2015 until October 17. Anne Ashton currently teaches painting with the Faculty of Education.
The վܰó installation "deals with the great white shark," reveals OBORO's promotion for the exhibit, "in danger of extinction due to human impact. The artist's intention is not to romanticize or demonize this animal, but rather to emphasize the uniqueness, as well as the primeval and mystifying beauty of this rare species..."
During the month of September ۲ݮƵ will host the 14th Annual Pow-Wow (September 18) and the 5th annual Indigenous Awareness Week (September 21-25). ۲ݮƵ University’s Indigenous Awareness Week is designed to increase awareness at ۲ݮƵ about Indigenous peoples in Canada. The week honours the many Indigenous cultures across the country including First Nations, Métis and Inuit.
