The McGill International Institute of Education (MIIE) welcomed 20 undergraduate students and three chaperones from the Zayed University in the United Arab Emirates to a two-week MIIE Summer Academy from June 26 to July 7, 2023.

Nearly 60 Cree students their graduation from ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University's Faculty of Education this past Saturday in Pikogan, Quebec. Our Office of First Nations and Inuit Education offers full-time and part-time teacher certification programs in Cree and Inuit communities in Quebec as well as in Kahnawake and Listuguj. Even though these students may be far away off campus, they are an important part of our Faculty and the ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ community.ÌýCBC's Susan Bell covered the story.

They are collecting words that don’t have an English translation, as well as aÌýbrief attempt to describe what these words mean. These words, the descriptions, and your name (if you are willing to share) will be printed on posters and displayed around ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ campus.
The Mohawk community of Kahnawà :ke and ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ launched the first-ever Bachelor of Education (B. Ed.)ÌýFirst Nations and Inuit Education (FNIE)ÌýÌýprogram to be given in the community of Kahnawà :ke, on August 20.
It’s a labour of love between ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ’s Office of First Nations and Inuit Education (OFNIE) in the Faculty of Education, and theÌýKahnawà :ke Education CentreÌý(KEC). It’s also in line with ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ’sÌýTask Force on Indigenous Studies and Indigenous Education.
Over the first week of July, the ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ International Institute of Education (MIIE) hosted 23 high school students from Maple Leaf Educational Systems (MLES) in China for its inaugural MIIE Student Summer Academy.
Commencing in late fall 2018, fifteen B.Ed. and MATL students are engaging in a funded Enriched Education Opportunity (EEO), the first of its kind in the Faculty of Education.

In an airy open area at the back of the first floor of the former library of the Faculty Education is a colourful space filled with art supplies and work tables. Along the wall there are bins and boxes of fabric, coloured pencils and paints, sketch pads, paper, and all manner of recycled objects, ready to be remade into anything the visitor desires. It was a successful turn out for the ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Faculty of Education’s first Distinguished Public Lecture and Professional Development Lecture Series made possible by a generous donation from the Hong Kong based WYNG Foundation. This event took place on May 13, 2017 at The First Commercial Building, in Hong Kong.
