Marcin Gierczyk

Marcin GierczykDoctor of Social Science. Associate professor at the Institute of Pedagogy of the University of Silesia in Katowice (Poland). Crisis Intervention Specialist dealing with domestic violence and protecting children against violence. He gained valuable academic knowledge during his time at the University of Birmingham, University of Oxford, University of Oslo, and Complutense University of Madrid and the Department of Psychology, Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg. His interests concern the environmental and educational support of gifted children and youth; emotional neglect; domestic violence and protecting children against violence; and methodological solutions for diagnosing and optimizing the well-being of children and adolescents.

He is an Editorial Board Member for the journals: Child Abuse & Neglect, Child Indicators Research, Child Protection and Practice, International Gifted Education, Gifted Child Quarterly, and Children and Youth Services Review, and Editor at Cogent Education.
